To become an ias officer you are required to attend the civil services examination for which any undergraduation is the eligibility and then by passing prelims and the intermediates you need to have top scores so that could become ias officers and their subordinate posts.

The minimum eligibility criteria for it is your must be a gradute in any field,But it is not an easy task you have appear for an entrance which is conducted every year by UPSC, official websitehttp://www.upsc.gov.in
after cracking several rounds of entrance's you have crack GD session,then an interview,then medical fitness test,then you will be sent for training after you will be appointed as an IAS officer. For becoming an IAS Officer, you will have to appear in a common UPSC exam which has three phases: Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam and GD-Interview. According to your score, you will get rankings and mostly for becoming IAS, you have to achieve ranks above 100.

for writing civil services exams you just need to fulfill two basic criteria that is
you need to be in the age range of 21-30 and a graduate in any discipline. also it should be noted that for general there are only 4 chances,for obc its 7 and for sc/st there is no limit. |

following is the eligibility conditions for IAS exam conducted by upsc; 1)candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. 2)Candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications which are recognised by Government as equivalent to professional and technical degree would also be eligible for admission to the examination. 3) In exceptional cases the Union Public Service Commission may treat a candidate who has not any of the foregoing qualifications as a qualified candidate provided that he has passed examination conducted by the other Institutions, the standard of which in the opinion of the Commission justifies his admission to the examination |

if you are a graduate with 50 percent marks you are eligible to appear in examination....
this exam requires a single-minded preparation of about 1 year. you have to study a great deal about different subjects to prepare for general studies besides the optional you are taking for the examination. |

If you want to become an IAS Officer you have to appear for the UPSC Civil Services Exam which happens in 3 stages. The Prelims sometime in May, then the Mains Exam and the Interview. To get into the IAS, you probably will have to try more than once before you succeed. So, basically getting into the IAS is not that easy. ok all the best. |

To become IAS officer, the candidate needs to write the civil service examination conducted by UPSC.
There are three stages of the examination. 1.Preliminary exam 2.Main exam 3.Interview The minimum eligiblity required to appear for the examinations are as follows; A bachelor's degree or equivallent qualification from a recognised institute . The eligible age limit is a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 30 years with a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and of 3 years for the OBC's. After successful completion of the exam, the candidate will be eligible to write the main examination which will be followed by interview.
