what is the conditions for an i.p.s officer and what qualifications we must have for this. give me the total path .my aim is to become an i.p.s officer .i am doing b.sc (non-medical). after completing my graduation

QUALIFICATION FOR IPS:
Educational Qualifications : Bachelors degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification.

IPS (Indian Police Service) we all know IAS/IPS is the most prestigious examination of our country.We have to show our passion and determination about these examination to qualify it. Name of Civil Services : IPS (Indian Police Service) Exam Date : Prelim in 1st week of May & Mains in 2nd week of Oct Eligibility Criteria : 1.Age limit 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption from the prescribed age limit The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University, which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate. 2.Number of Attempts Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt. 3.Restrictions on applying for the examination: A candidate who is appointed to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Foreign Service on the results of an earlier examination and continues to be a member of that service will not be eligible to compete at this examination. 4. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. (Those cant expand the chest go to next service. If expansion is less during 1st Medical, i.e. just after interview; during second Medical, i.e. after the result, or appeal, expansion can be shown.) Many people fail in this test of chest expansion. (I know some people who have cleared this exam during the second Medical Test, i.e. after the Medical Exam conducted after the declaration of Final result) Eye sight 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic. To appear in this exam you should have Graduation degree from a recognized university. The minimum qualifications required for the IPS exam is as follows:- -> The minimum educational qualification required is to be a graduate in any field from any recognized university. -> You need to first clear the CSAT before appearing for the mains. -> Age limitation is between 21-30 years for general , 21-35 for the SC/St , 21-33 years for the OBC. -> General category get 4 , OBC get 7 while SC/ST get unlimited attempts to clear the exam. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm. (Those cant expand the chest go to next service. If expansion is less during 1st Medical, i.e. just after interview; during second Medical, i.e. after the result, or appeal, expansion can be shown.) Many people fail in this test of chest expansion. (I know some people who have cleared this exam during the second Medical Test, i.e. after the Medical Exam conducted after the declaration of Final result) Eye sight 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. The correction is by lenses only. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic. |

this exam is conducted by UPSC every year,. for appear in this exam you must have to complete your graduation in any stream from a recognized university.
the age limit for this civil service examination is 21-30 years. there are 5 years of relaxation for SC\ST candidates. also 3 years of relaxation for OBC candidates. this exam have three stages of- 1.CSAT 2.main 3.interview.. NO. If you are interested in IPS officer Then you will have to fulfill these criteria IPS CRITERIA : 1.Academic qualification : You must be a graduate candidate. 2.Age criteria : Your age must be within 21 to 30 years.[SC/ST will get 5 years age relaxation and OBC will get 3 year age relaxation] 3.Candidates who are in the final semester or have taken their final degree exam but are awaiting the results can also appear for the IPS examination. 4.Height criteria : Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women. 5.Chest criteria : 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women 6.Presence of Squint is a disqualification I think you have all these criteria All the very best........... |

Educational qualification:
The candidate must be a degree holder of any discipline from a recognized university. The candidates who are in the final year of their degree course can also apply for the examination. Candidate who have completed their M.B.B.S., but not have completed the required internship during the time of submission of the application to the main examination will be provisionally admitted for the main examination. Physical qualification for IPS: Height: The male candidate should be 165cm and female candidate should be 150cm for general category candidates. In the case of candidates coming under SC/ST/OBC the height required is 160cm for male and 145cm for female. Chest: Minimum requirement in the case of male candidates is 84cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm. In the case of female candidates the minimum requirement is 79cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm. Eye sight: 6/12 or 6/9 distant vision for worse eye and 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. Near vision for worse eye is J2 and for good eye is J1. The physical standards are essential for IPS, which includes weekly run for 10kms in 60 minutes, rope climbing, horse riding, PT obstacles, etc |

The Preliminary Examination and 2. The Main Examination. 3. Interview Eligibility IPS exam: Age should be 21 years (minimum) and 30 years (maximum). SC/ST/OBC and ex-servicemen are given exemption of 3 to 5 years in maximum age limit. The student must be a degree holder of any recognized university. IPS-INDIAN POLICE SERVICE, to become an IPS officer one has to appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.
The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for Graduation Degree final exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years, is eligible to apply for Civil Service Exam. There is upper age relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST candidate and up to 3 years for OBC candidate. Bachelors degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely: Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Age limit: - 21 years must be completed and Maximum 30 on 1st August of the year, for general category, - 21 to 33 years for OBCs and -21 to 35 years for SCs/STs.
