Re: What should I do to become an IPS officer?
You simply have to complete graduation to apply for Indian Police Service. As long as you have completed graduation with passing marks, there is no issue. Yes there will be physical requirements that you will need to meet considering the nature of work carried out by the Indian Police Service.
Since you are in second year of graduation this is the perfect time to start the preparation. Keep your focus on the general knowledge. It is very essential. Read and watch news. Make sure you are aware of all the latest developments in the world. For General Studies paper you should study NCERT books for the Class 12th. Your language skills will also be tested during the examination. There will be a paper on English language. To clear it you must have great command over the language. Communicate with others in English. A good way to improve English is by watching English movies, news, shows etc. For optional subject you should select subjects that are related to your course. Don't select tough subjects especially that are not from your course. Eligibility 1. You should be of Indian origin. 2. A bachelor degree in any stream. 3. There is no percentage criteria. 4. Age limit is 21 to 30 years. 5. Upto 3 years relaxation for OBC. 6. SC/ST is given 5 years relaxation. Physical Requirements Height Male - 165 cm for OBC/SC/General and minimum of 150 cm for ST. Re: What should I do to become an IPS officer?
Yes. You are eligible to become IPS officer. But you have to wait for one more year in order to apply for this exam.
This is the right time for you to start preparation for this exam as you are pursuing 2nd year of your Graduation. UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) is going to conduct civil services exam every year to recruit the candidates into various civil services like Indian Administrative Service Indian Police Service Indian Revenue Service Indian Foreign Service The selection procedure that you should crack is CSAT Exam (Civil Services Aptitude Test) Civil Services Main Exam Interview One should have completed Graduation in order to apply for this exam. Candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation course are also eligible to apply for this exam. The required age limit for the candidates should be 21-30 years of age for the candidates of General category 21-33 years of age for the candidates of OBC category 21-35 years of age for the candidates of SC or ST category. So, I suggest you to decide upon the optional subject for civil services main exam in accordance with your subjects in Graduation. And then start preparation for this exam. Don't ignore your academic also. Wish you all the best. |
