what is the age limit for nda?
i am in confusion to know whether am i eligible for nda exam or not.

National Defense Academy (NDA) exam is conducted by upsc twice in a year to intake qualified Candidate for different department in Defense service like Indian Airforce, Indian Navy,Indian Army etc.

Eligibility criteria for NDA-I/NDA-II exam:
Education qualification: Minimum candidate should complete 12th class with PCM stream.
Age Limit: Age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years.
Citizenship: Indian
NDA-I and NDA-II exam are conducted twice in year, because the person who was not able to attend for NDA-I exam, he can apply for NDA-II exam in the same year, without having gap between the education.
NDA-I exam notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 31st Dec 2011 to 30th Jan 2012.
Exam will held on 15th April 2012.
NDA-II exam notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 5th May 2012 to 4th June 2012.
Exam will held on 19th Aug 2012.

Required age limit for NDA(National defence academy) exam. The exam is conducted by UPSC(union public service commission)

* The age limit for NDA exam must be within 16.5 to 19 years. So, you cannot attend the exam above 19 years.
* Candidates should complete 12th from a recognized institute.
* Candidates should study physics as subject
* Unmarried male candidates are only allowed

NDA Stands for National Defense Academy and this examination was conducted by UGC Twice in a year - NDA (I) and NDA (II).

And This year NDA (I) and NDA (II) Both examinations was completed.

So, If you are Interested in NDA Examination then you need to complete your 12Th examination form a recognised Board and Your age should between 16.5 to 19 years.

>> So, If your age more than 16.5 years and less than 19 years, then you are eligible to apply for NDA Examination.

Eligible candidates may apply any one of the wings - Army wings, Air- Force Wings and Naval Wings.

there are three wings in indian army

1 army wing
2 naval wing
3 air wing

for applying in naval & air wing you must have to pass 10+2 with PCM group with at least 60% .and for ground army you just to pass 10+2 exam in sny stream with minimum55% .

The NDA exam is conducted by union public service commission.
The minimum eligible age is 16 1/2 years.
The maximum age limit is 19 years.

So, if you are within the age limit,you may apply for the exam.

As per latest National Defence Academy (NDA) examination notification the candidates must be male Indian within the age limit of 16 1/2 to 19 years on the date of commecement of training. Furthure more candidate must be medically fit and have to clear Service Selection Board (SSB) interview after qualifying written examination.

NDA Examination is conducted by UPSC twice in a year in the month of April and August. Recently NDA 2 examination was conducted in the month of August. Notification of upcoming NDA 1 examination will be going to publish in the month of October 2011.

after 10+2 ,You are eligible for NDA exam .The age is must be in between is 16.5 to 19 years.

So if your age this is above 19 years. then you are not eligible for NDA exam now.

You must have gone through Physics and Mathematics as the subjects at 10+2.

One should be in the age between 16 1/2 years to 19 years are eligible.

As your date of birth is on 21-09-1993,
your age is 18 years by 2011 and by 2012 you are going to complete 19 years.

you can appear for upcoming NDA Exam.

u should have mentioned ur age or ur date of birth so that we could have helped u properly but anyway..the NDA(National Defence Academy) exam is meant for students to take entry into the indian army,navy or air force..the age limit for the exam is 16-19 years..

Don't confuse your self , i provide the details regarding nda examination ,

Eligibility Criteria for N.D.A Examination :

For army wing : you should be qualified for 12th with good percentage of marks in any stream from recognized board .

For navy and airforce : you should be qualified for 12th in science stream { ie : physics , chemistry , biology and mathematics } from recognized .

Age Limit :

You age should be 16 1/2 years to 19 years .

Physical Fitness :

You should be physically fit ie : eye sight , weight , height , then only your eligible for training .

Only unmarried males can attend the exams

You should atleast pass the 12th class to be eligible for writing the exam

You have not mentioned your date of birth so that I can tell you weather you are eligible for the NDA examination or not.
The age limit criteria for the NDA examination is that the age of the candidate must be between 16.5 years to 19 years.
If your age is with in the criteria and you have passed class 12th then you are quite eligible to apply for the NDA examination.

Through this examination one can apply in the combatant branches of the Indian army i.e. in NAVAL , AIR FORCE & MILITARY BRANCHES for their officers ranks posts,.

Selection procedure

The process of selecting cadets for the National Defence Academy is split into three phases :

• A written examination held by the Union Public Service Commission.

• A medical examination by a Service Medical Board.

Exam Pattern

There will be written Examination for total of 900 marks in two Subjects:

1. Mathematics - Maximum marks is 300 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.
2. General Ability Test - Maximum marks is 600 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.

The papers in both the subjects will consist of objective type questions only.

NDA stands for the National Defense Academy. It is one of those exams which are conducted by the UPSC every year to select candidates for the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.


The Basic Eligibility Criteria for the NDA are ::


1. You should be an Indian National Unmarried Male citizen.

2. YOUR AGE SHOULD BE WITHIN 16.5 TO 19 YEARS ! No relaxations.

3. You should be a minimum 12th pass from a recognized school or state board and scored above 50% in it.

4. Physics and Maths are compulsory for the IAF and Navy.

After 12th you can apply for NDA exam.
