NDA stands for National Defense Service.NDA exam is held by UPSC every year twice to intake qualified students into different defense wings like
>>Indian Air Force wings
>>Indian Navy Wings
>>Indian Army Wings

To eligible for this exam
>>For Indian Air Force wings/Indian Navy Wings:You should have complete 12th class with PCM stream from a recognized university.
>>For Indian Army wings:You should have complete 12th class with any stream from a recognized university.
>>And your age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 year for three wings.

If you are fulfilled with above mentioned criteria,then you can appear this year NDA exam.

Important date for NDA exam:
NDA-1 Exam:
Opening date for application form is 31st Dec 2011.
Closing date for application form is 30th Jan 2012.
Exam will be held on 15th April 2012.
NDA-II Exam:
Opening date for application form is 5th May 2012.
Closing date for application form is 4th June 2012.
Exam will be held on 19th August 2012.

Only unmarried male candidate are applicable.

2)Personal Interview.

So, If you have not completed your 12Th examination with Maths and Physics as a compulsory Subjects, then you are not eligible for Naval Wings of NDA, Then you have to apply for Army Wings.

There are 2 exams of NDA in year NDA I AND NDA II
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), India conducts National Defence Academy (NDA exam) to recruit candidates to The Army, Navy and the Air force wings of the National Defence Academy (NDA).
This programme is for unmarried males only

IMPORTANT DATES
For NDA I

=> Notification Announced - 31/12/2011

=> Last date to apply - 30/01/2012

=> Examination date - 15/04/2012.

For NDA II

=> Date of Notification : -05/05/2012

=> Last Date of Submission of Application form - 04/06/2012 (MONDAY)

Selection procedure

The process of selecting cadets for the National Defence Academy is split into three phases :

A written examination held by the Union Public Service Commission.
An interview by the Service Selection Board to assess a candidate's officer potentialities ( Intelligence and personality test ).
A medical examination by a Service Medical Board.

EXAM PATTERN

There will be written Examination for total of 900 marks in two Subjects:
1. Mathematics - Maximum marks is 300 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.
2. General Ability Test - Maximum marks is 600 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.
The papers in both the subjects will consist of objective type questions only.

NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY


This examination is conducted by the union public service commission [UPSC],.Through this examination, one can apply for the combatant branches of the Indian army, i.e. In naval , air force , military branch..

For appear in this examination, you must have a 12th degree from a recognized board.
for apply in naval & air force wing , you must have Physics & maths as your passing subjects in 12th,.you must have scored at least 60% in 12th.
For apply in military branch, you just need a 12th from a recognized board in any stream.

The age limit for this examination is is 16.5-19 years, there is not any kind of age relaxations are applicable for any reserved category.

You must have Indian nationality.

You must have marital status unmarried unmarried.

The NDA examination is conducted by the UPSC.The exam is conducted twice in a year.The exam is taken to take admission in the Air Force Wing, Naval Wiung and the Army of NDA.

Qualifying Examinations for NDA Entrance Exam

The selection of the candidates into the Air Force, Naval and Army wings of the NFA will be done through the NDA Examination. This exam will be carried out by the Union Public Service Commission. The exam will be held on 30th of December 2011.

Age Qualification for NDA Entrance Exam

Candidates who are appearing for the NDA exam must be unmarried males. They must be atleast 16 1/2 years and not more than 19 years on January 1st or July 1st of the year subsequent to the year of the exam.

Who can apply for NDA Entrance Exam?

Candidates who are permanent citizens of India can apply for the NDA exam. Candidates whose family was a part of Bhutan, Nepal or a Tibetan refugee who had migrated to India prior to January 1st 1962 with the objective of residing permanently in India are also eligible to apply for the NDA exam.

Those candidates who have their origin from India but have migrated from neighboring countries of India as well as from East African nations that include United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya and have the intention of settling permanently in India are eligible to apply too. These candidates are required to have a certification of eligibility from the Indian Government. However, candidates who are from the Gorkha category of Nepal need not submit any certificates of eligibility.

Eligibility for the Foreign Nationals/NRI/PIO for NDA Entrance Exam

Individuals who are citizens of foreign countries will not be considered eligible for writing the NDA entrance exam. However, NRI’s will be allowed to appear for the exam, if they have a valid Indian passport which proves their citizenship.

> Pass 12th with any stream from recognized board.

1. Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of India.

2. Age: Only the Unmarried Male Candidates born not earlier than 2nd July,1994 and not later than 1st January ,1997 are eligible.

Sex: only unmarried male candidates are eligible.

3. Educational Qualifications:

(i)For Army wing of National Defence Academy: 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy: A candidate must have passed 10+2 educational level with physics and mathematics subjects. Candidates who are appearing in the 12th class under the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent can also apply.
