Minimum education criteria = Graduate Maximum age criteria = 28yrs (for General category and I think it is 32 years for SC/ ST categories) You have to apply for UPSC (Union Public Services Commission) exam. Notification for the same is done by the Govt.Gazette and in the Employement New and Rozgar Yojana news papers (available on weekly basis in newstands). Once you apply, you have to take the Prelims exam in a subject of your choice and General Knowledge. This is a subjective paper. Once you get through the Prelims, you have to write the Main Exam (again subjective), but you have to choose 2 main subjects (eg. Physics and Political Science etc). After you clear the Main exam, you need to take the Group Discussion and then the interview. Based on the overall ranking and your choice of cadre, you will be provided IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IAS or IPS. The higher your rank, the choice is with you. In case you have not not got a good rank and got into IFS, IAS or IPS, you may still become a Group A or B officer in the Central Govt. All the best! http://upscportal.com/civilservices/ |
