CID stands for Criminal Investigation Department

Minimum Qualification required for become a CID Officer

>> You should have completed graduation degree course in any stream from any recognized university

>> Your age should between 20 to 27 for general candidates

5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates

3 years relaxation for OBC candidates

Required Height for CID Officer

Minimum Height for CID - 165 cm

Minimum Chest for CID - 76 cm

Selection Procedure:-

1)- Written Exam,

2)- Physical Test,

3)- Personal Interview.

Number of Attempts:-

# 4 attempts for General category candidates
# 7 attempts for OBC category candidates
# Unlimited attempts for sc/st category candidates

Ranks in CID:-

Detective Constable (DC)
Detective Sergeant (DS)
Detective Inspector (DI)
Detective Chief Inspector (DCI)
Detective Superintendent (DSI)
Detective Chief Superintendent (DCS)


CBI is the main investigation agency of India.
The agency has different ranks for the officers and the salary of a CBI officer varies from rank to rank.

It depends on the post your going to take

for example

If you are applying for the public prosecutor in CBI then the Salary of yours will be : Rs.15600-39100 +Rs.5400(Grade pay)(T.E.Rs.28350)

For general posts like

Sub Inspectors and all will get : The basic pay will be 14k to 20k

This is the exclusive money apart from the facilities provided by Department.

So the life will be very secured

friend if you want to join CID (crime investigation department) ,for that you must have graduation degree from recognized university

-age limit=minimum age required is 21 years and maximum age is 30 years

-5 years of relaxation age for sc/st

-3 years of relaxation for obc

-mentally and physically strong

-must be indian

for this you had to crack the 'combined graduate level exam' conduct by SSC.

SSC COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL EXAM stages=

a)preliminary test

b)main test

c)interview

exam stage is similar to upsc civil service exam
