Theres no harm in having weak eyesight. Even if you have glasses. Perfect vision is not necessary on the engine side. My father has spectacles and he's working for 23 years. Good luck with your career.

Yes you can join merchant navy if you have done engineering in mechanical branch.eligibility for merchant navy is 12th + entrance (IIT)
you are definately eligible after b.tech
