You can either search for technical or non-technical jobs in Merchant Navy. As you are an intermediate, you can be a part of the Merchant Navy as a Deck Cadet. However, if you expect a good career in Navy, you have to study either Marine Engineering or Nautical Science courses. There are mainly 4 Government Pre and Post – Sea training institutes of international standards in India. They are the Marine Engineering & Research Institute in Kolkata and Mumbai, Lal Bahadur Shastri College of advanced Maritime Studies and Research and TS Chanakya institute. You can either study the Sea training programs in these institutes or in any other private institutes of your choice. Please visit the official website of these institutes for clarifying your doubts.

I want to join Merchant Navy. I'm 12th pass (75.8%) in PCM.
i'v just completed my Engineering in Mechanical Branch with 58 % Aggregate. so am i eligible for merchant navy or not ?? plzz tell me the Eligibility criteria & the procedure to join Merchant Navy 2011 with this Aggregate in B.E
