Re: Should I go for a job or M.Tech after B.Tech?
Post graduation or job that totally depends upon your interest. If you are interested in joining college use some more time and money for learning you can do your post graduation course.
If you are in need of earning money immediately and not interested to study again for 2yrs in a college you can go for a good job. When your studies become higher and higher you can earn more value and more money but you need to spend that much money for doing your post graduation as fees. |

Re: Should I go for a job or M.Tech after B.Tech?
Dear Friend,
This is a problem faced by most of the engineers. You should ask yourself as you know better. If you are interested in studying more after B.Tech then without any hesitation you should apply for the GATE exam in the 3rd year or 4th year. After completing your M.Tech, you obviously get the better job as compared with your bachelor degree counterparts. There are many institutions for doing your M.Tech like the IITs among others. If get a good GATE score then most of your fees for the masters will be waivered and plus might earn some if you are in a good institute. But if you are not that keen in studying for 2 more years after completing your bachelors then you should opt for a job. Working for 2-3 years in any company will give you a job experience which is really handy. After working for 2-3 years, if you want to complete your masters, then you can very well do so. We would like to know your decision so please reply to this post and tell us what you have chosen to do after you have come to a conclusion. |

Re: Should I go for a job or M.Tech after B.Tech?
I think going with M.Tech will be better rather to go directly for job after B.Tech.At first you will be specialized in a particular field which will make you skip your competitors in that field job, secondly packages are although not predictable but atleast they will be better than that after B.Tech, thirdly if you go for GATE and persue your M.Tech from iits you will be provided stipends.
Then its up to you and your interest in studies or job. |

Re: Should I go for a job or M.Tech after B.Tech?
Masters after B.tech – You have large number of options if you wanna study after graduation .
a. For those who still want to try u , have CAT just waiting for you around the corner . It has been almost delayed by a month so just decide if you wanna crack it and get into top 15-20 colleges of INDIA . b. For those who want to go and achieve something big , can sit for there GRE and GMAT with equal hard work and endurance . 3. Other options – There are now a wide range of options which can be thought of after being an engineer . a. Civil services b. Defense services c. Aviation industry d. Self venture etc It’s still just a beginning when you start looking here you will get a fair idea what are your interests and what is your aim in life . Someone wants to work in an MNC (Multi National Company) whereas some dream to have a company of their own. Life is too short and there is lot to do . Just distribute your wants and your goals in two different categories and begin in a direction which would lead you to achieve something that makes you happy and contended in life . |

Re: Should I go for a job or M.Tech after B.Tech?
You are in your first year now...so right now don't think about the jobs or any higher studies.
Just concentrate on your subjects upto 3rd year of your engineering. Make your base very strong, clear your doubts or confusions in every subject... On your 4th year , sit for on campusing interviews. Most probably if you have talent, and if you perform well in the interview, then you will obviously get selected. If at that time, still don't get any job, then try for off campusing jobs... Various big companies like IBM, Infosys, HCL often held off campusing jobs....you have to keep yourself updated about this. Don't think that those off campusing jobs will take place in your city, it may happen that for those interviews you have to go to various places in India from Delhi to Mumbai to Chennai to Bangalore. But those interviews are worth attending because chances are high to get selected there. Another thing you can do is that search for jobs which suits your profile in various job searching websites, then apply for those according to your wish. So after B.tech you can do these things to get immediate job. Otherwise you can do Masters (like M.tech or MBA or MCA) to get a high profile job in big companies. Best wishes.... |

Re: Should I go for a job or M.Tech after B.Tech?
It purely depends on your mindset and your interest. If you get a good job during your campus better do the job for few years and later you can do your higher studies.
This would be helpful to get the job after completing your higher studies and you would also gain experience which the companies would prefer. This would also increase your salary. Good luck. |

Re: Should I go for a job or M.Tech after B.Tech?
hi friend,
Look ! i will suggest you to do M.TECH after B.tech. After completing B.TECH you can get a job but with low salary, thats why if you do M.TECH your value will go high and you can get a good salary . Because many companies ask for post graduation students thats why you should do M.TECH. GOOD LUCK! |

Quote:
can do m.tech from a honourable institute like iit colleges the its very good for your future. You can also do a job but you can see there is a very less package for fresher or a b.rech engineer. So you should do m.tech. You can do preperation for entrance paper of m.tech which is GATE.And also get admission in a good college. You can also do a job along with m.tech.So it will be your best choiceand also very good for you. An m.tech engineer can get 6-7 lakhs package.and also its depend on the company and your job All the best |
