Re: Should I take coaching for IAS during first year of graduation?
Dear Friend
You can join a coaching during your graduation if you find it okay with you. Generally, the methodology of teaching in coaching institution is such that they consider you either final year student of graduation or graduate student. So, I would suggest you to join a coaching only in the final year of graduation and not before that. You should consider the right to start preparation. If you are aiming at civil services you should start from small things. Start preparation of General Studies from NCERT books(Std-7 to 12th, Cover all science and Arts subjects). You should also make a habit of reading Newspapers daily and magazines like Chronicle, pratiyogita darpan etc. For now this is the most you can do. If you are planning to opt your graduation subject in main examination then you should study thoroughly your graduation paper from both graduation and civil services point of views. Thank You |

Re: Should I take coaching for IAS during first year of graduation?
There is no harm in you joining for training well in advance. But make sure that you do not loose focus. Also since you are preparing well in advance you make sure that you donot haste it up at the concept level. Make sure that you have understood well what you are required to study. Also make it a point to read the newspaper thoroughly.

Re: Should I take coaching for IAS during first year of graduation?
You can join the coaching centers if you feel comfortable in handling both your Graduation course along with the training provided in the Institute. If you feel some what stress in handling both the subjects then its better that you join the training course when your in the final year of your graduation course.
But before joining any coaching center make sure that your good in the basic part i.e history and Civics,Geography,English. Its better that you prefer books of Goyal Brothers Prakashan/NCERT of 9th and 10th ICSE/CBSE standards. For current events its better that you read "The Hindu" newspaper daily. There are many Institutes wide spread in India like Ujjwal IAS Academy(Delhi),Classic IAS Academy(Delhi),JTS Institute(Delhi),Achievers IAS Classes(Bangalore) .You can get all the Institutes city wise in the following site www.civilserviceindia.com/ias-coaching/ |

Re: Should I take coaching for IAS during first year of graduation?
Dear friend,
I would like to suggest you that you do not join coaching classes in 1st and 2nd year of the graduation. Because it will be to early. If you join in final year it will be better. In case you join after completion of graduation that will be most useful to clear the exam, because current knowledge always help in clearing the exam. But along with your graduation carry on reading books, news papers, magzines and general knowledge books. It will help you a lot to clear the exam. All the best. |

Re: Should I take coaching for IAS during first year of graduation?
I will advice you not to go coaching now that is in first year because it can hamper your current study.
Generally either graduate or final year graduation student join coaching. there is no limitation .if you are capable of handling your studies and coaching as well then you can join coaching. Think yourself and don't take decision which can create problem in your future |

if you are getting enough time to take coaching besides doing graduation, then it will be best for you to grab the opportunity. IAS is a very tough exam and needs a lot of study hours. so you must find a good coaching institute and start preparing for the exam. good luck |

Re: Should I take coaching for IAS during first year of graduation?
I will suggest you that at this time you should not join coaching at this time.
But This is a right time for preparation. Start from the basic level i.e. Start reading magzines like Pratiyogita Darpan, Yojana, Bharat. Study your Graduation subject thoroughly so that you can take that subject in civils & you will have concentrate on it less at that time because you have already studied for it three years. Also read the NCERT books of class 6-12 because it will make your foundation Strong Best Of Luck |

Re: Should I take coaching for IAS during first year of graduation?
you can join a coaching institution for IAS if you feel comfortable with it
But i think you should first complete your second year of graduation that will be more benefit to you in IAS Coaching because at that time you will be more familiar with the subjects. I think if your aim is only for IAS then you should work hard in 2nd year and study the subjects with interest. And at the coaching time you will be enough mature to give the right answers to the questions. During 2nd year you can go for preparation for General Studies that will be very helpful in IAS exam. |

Re: Should I take coaching for IAS during first year of graduation?
you may take coaching from first year of your graduation. but you will be able to appear in IAS examination only after completion of your graduation.
now on the first year of your graduation you will not familiar with the course.so it will be very much difficult to start preparation from that time. i think better time to start coaching from the second year if your aim is IAS. try from second year. but unfortunately if you are unable to do good in the IAS examination in last year then you may prepare for one year for only IAS examination from the coaching institution. i think after that it will be very easy for to crack the IAS examination. best wishes. |

Re: Should I take coaching for IAS during first year of graduation?
hi!
Of course you can start preparing for IAS exam & take coaching in the second year of graduation. But in my opinion you should start your preparation from the final year of graduation. One year time is enough for preparing for any competitive exam including IAS exam. You are in second year of graduation so you should concentrate on your studies now. It is also important to secure good percentage in graduation (at least 60%) for getting job in top companies. Well you can start studying general awareness now. Good knowledge of GK helps in almost all the competitive exams. |

Re: Should I take coaching for IAS during first year of graduation?
For IAS, you will have to score high in civil services main examination. So, better to join coaching rather than preparing on your own.
coaching institute emphasizes on the nature of the preparation to be made, the pattern of setting the questions and how to tackle them, evoking their interest in the various areas of knowledge, and acquiring a picture-like view of the various themes to be studied. There you will be get proper right path. As far as coaching name is concerned,The best coaching in India for CIVIL SERVICES is Rau Study circle,New delhi. You should go for that coaching only. Re: Should I take coaching for IAS during first year of graduation?
dear friend,
To apply for IAS exam you have to first complete the graduation in any trade.. Final year candidates can also apply for IAS exam.. As you are now in 1st year of graduation then it will be too early for you to take preparation for IAS exam.. You first complete your graduation with a good percentage of aggregate. Then go for IAS exam.. So, I will suggest you not to go for IAS exam wright now.. You just concentrate on your graduation.. All the best.. |
