After passing 10th you can chose any stream among three:-
> Arts
> Commerce
> Science

After passing 11th can 12th you have to do graduation with any stream you want to take like:-
> B.A
> B.COM
> B.C.A
> M.B.B.S
> B.TECH
> B.SC
> LAW
etc

After passing graduation you have to qualify the civil Services exam.

Civil Services exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Age limit for Civil Services exam si 21-30 year,

For IAS examination, it is a exam which you have to start your preparation from the beginning, as you know it is the toughest exam ever had, including all the written test,personal interview and all.

You can start preparing from now even by reading the NCERT books and General knowledge, they form the basis of your knowledge.

If you are in 12th now, just think that what is your interest in your subject:-

You can go for

Arts and science

Commerce

Engineering

MBBS

Political science,history,geography honors etc.

If you really want to write this exam, History,public administration, and geography are scoring, you can try to take them.

>> You should try to understand basic economics terms, encountered daily in news papers or magazines, well. policies and happenings of the economy and the world should be updated.

>> you can also learn basic science. New technologies like Bluetooth, WiFi, Washing Machine, LED and LCD Televisions are covering new aspects.

for my choice history is the favourable for doing an ias or ips. because it contain major portion in olden, modern,medival period of history. indian hustory, etc so my choice is history

You can give the UPSC Civil services Exams only after completing your Graduation

UPSC Civil Services Exams are held in three stages:
Prelims
MAINS
Interview

In the Prelims exams there are two papers and both these papers is of Objective type

In the Mains exams there are below 7 papers which in total is of 1800 marks

Which subject should I opt in 11th if I am focused to do Indian Forest Services but before that I want to DO LAW ?

To be an IAS you should be a graduate at any subject . That includes Engg, medical, science, arts and commerce graduate. There is nothing to be particular about any stream in IAS exam.

But, Civil Service Exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission and as such you will need to prepare yourself for the UPSC exam. In most cases since there are many specializations and subjects which you need to be well aware of, Arts is a stream which is preferred by many IAS aspirants.
So, I would suggest you to take up Arts.

The answer is very simple. You can choose any subjects that you like. The best way to go ahead is to choose subjects in which you see future. What would you like to do in future.

One important thing to always keep in mind is that there are very few vacancies in Indian Administrative Service and lakhs of students who apply for it. You should always have a back up plan in case you fail to make the cut.

Therefore choose the subjects accordingly. What would you like to do after finishing 12th? If the answer is Engineering then you should select Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

This is how the decision should be taken. Rest be assured that whatever subjects you will choose, that will make no difference. You can still apply for the Civil Services Examination.


IAS Eligibility

Any stream students are eligible to apply for IAS examination after completion of Graduation from a recognized University.

So what subjects you take in 11th class will not create any kind of problem for you in eligibility criteria for IAS examination.

So you can opt for any stream according to your interests. The best stream will be PCM because it will give you other career options also other than IAS examination.

Age Limit:

21 to 30 years is the age limit for General category candidates. There is age relaxation for reserved categories based on the government rules.

SC/ST - 5 years relaxation

OBC - 3 years relaxation

Examination Pattern:

If you have to become IAS,you can take any subject.All subjects are good.You should take Arts.It will help you for preparation of UPSC Exam. When you passed Graduation degree,you can give examination of UPSC IAS Exam.Start your preparation after 12th class.So when you will complete your Graduation,you will be able to crack UPSC IAS EXAMINATION.

Yes you can choose history as an optional subject if you have that much of knowledge about historical things or if you are interested in it you can choose the subject.
