Which subjects and boards are suitable for a 11th and 12th standard students?

i have recently given 10th exams from icse board, now i am totally confuse about the subjects and board.
i have scored 83 marks in maths and 69 in science. i have heard from many of my seniors that CBSE is most suitable for comptetion exams, is it right?
