You need to pass 12th standard. Make sure that you select Physics, Chemistry and Maths as your core subjects in 11th and 12th. You must secure a minimum of 60% in the same. After 12th standard you need to appear for the IIT-JEE exam. Your admission to the institute will be dependent on the score in the entrance exam and also 12th standard marks.

Kashyap,

Take Physics, Chemistry and Maths as your subjects in 12th. Also, Computer Science as an optional subject may prove helpful later. Also, age limit is 25 for appearing and you get 2 consecutive attempts only.

Here is what you can do.
*You need to focus on your studies properly, and get above 60%.
*Enroll in a IITJEE coaching institute, if possible.
*Give mock IITJEE tests.

You need to get a very good rank to get into IIT. Best of luck.

Cheers,

START PREPARING FROM THE EARLIEST
ENROLLL YOURSELF IN A MAIN BRANCH OF COACHING INSTITUTE LIKE BANSAL ,VIBRANT RESONANCE,
Take Physics, Chemistry and Maths as your subjects in 12th
SCORE ATLEAST 60% MARKS IN 12TH BOARD
YOUR SEAT IN IIT WILL BE BASED ON YOUR 12TH AS WELL AS IITJEE SCORE

better option always is to enroll with a good reputed institute fot IIT preparation..along with private 11 and 12 form a particular school..be very particular in choosing the institue..the head offices in KOTA are d bst options..they prepare you for board exams along with IIT..make sure u get 60% marks in board also..KEEP YOUR BASIC CONCEPTS VERY CLEAR..

To prepare an appear in IITJEE you should start preparing for it just after 10th board.
You can join IITJEE coaching institutes for better guidance.
You will have to choose physics ,chemistry and maths as the main subjects in 12th board.
you can appear for 2 times in JEE , which is counted from the year you are appearing in 12th board.

Its good to hear that you wana appear fo IIT. For IIt you have to take non-medical i.e physics, chemistry, mathematics in your 11th and 12th and pass your 12th with good marks more than 60% so that you would be eligible for IIT.
Make your basics strong in these subjects and study regularly without nay gap.
Follow NCERT books as CBSE final exam and IIT,AIEEE both are based on NCERT books.
All the best.....!
