To join Air Force you should choose science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 11th standard. Air force can be joined by following ways-

>> NDA- After passing 10+2 with PCM, you can join National Defense Academy (only boys) by qualifying NDA Entrance Exam and get selected for Air Force. Then, 3 years of training program is held at NDA training establishment.

>> AFCAT - Air Force Common Admission Test
This exam is for graduate engineers.

>> CDSE- B.Sc candidates can apply through CDS Exam

You must choose the best option suitable for you. If to join Air Force is your main goal, then NDA is best choice to pursue your career.

For recruitment in Indian Air Force the minimum requirement is candidate must have passed 12th with PCM ( Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics ).

So, you need to pursue PCM stream in 12th to appear in examination as NDA and technical entry.

So, you must start preparation as according to syllabus for whichever examination you want to appear.

NDA examination is conducted by UPSC for recruitment in defence services as an officer after 12th.

Candidates can also join air force through technical entry.

For both the recruitment, it is mandatory that candidate must have passed 12th with PCM as main paper.

So, you must pursue 12th with science stream. Candidates have to qualify in various stages of examination for final selection.

As far as you are concerned about the selection of stream for joining Indian Air force in future then I would like to let you know that in order to join Indian Air force as a Airmen Y group there is no requirement of a particular stream in academics as any Class 12th passed candidate with 50% marks ( overall and in English ) are eligible.

But if you are interested to join Indian Air force as an officer or X group technician then you must have to pursue your Class 12th with Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects from a recognized board. Students having any equivalent degree are also eligible.

For more details regarding officers opportunity in Indian Air force you can visit the link www.careerairforce.nic.in where as for details regarding Airmen selection procedure you can visit the link www.airmenselection.gov.in.

For most of the examination to join Indian Air Force the required minimum qualification is candidate must have passed 12th with PCM as main paper.

So, according to my opinion if you want to join Air Force as an Officer of Clerk post you must pursue science stream in 12th.

But for Airmen - Y group candidates passed 12th in any stream are eligible. The age limit varies with examination.

For detail information about examination visit at official website of Air Force visit at www.careerairforce.nic.in or www.upsc.gov.in.

In order to join Indian Air Force, you must have either completed Graduation or 12th Class from a recognized board or university.

There is a certain educational qualification required to be eligible for joining Air Force. You can get through National Defence Academy on the basis of 12th Class qualification.

On the other side, you may join Combined Defence Services on the basis of Graduation or Bachelor Degree in any discipline.

You must have pursued 12th Class with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) subjects in order to join Air Force.
