I just want to know the syllabus for preliminary exam of UPSC .Is it based on general knowledge?The questions of paper 1& 2 are based on which syllabus

UPSC Preliminary Examination Syllabus :

Paper I :

Marks : 200

Duration of Time : 2hrs

Current events of national & international importance

General Science

History of India & Indian National Movement

Indian & world Geography - physical , social , Economic geography of India

& the world

Indian Polity & Governamce - constitution , Political system , Panchayati Raj , Public Policy , Rights Issues , . etc

Economic & Social Development - Sustainable Development , Poverty , Inclusion , Demographics , Social Sector Initiatives ..... etc

General issues on Environment ecology , Bio-diversity & climate change that do not require subjects specialization

Paper II :

Marks : 200

Duration of Time : 2hrs

Comprehension

English Language comprehension skills

Data Interpretation

Basic Numeracy

General Mental Ability

Logical reasoning & analytical ability

Interpersonal skills including communication skills

UPSC Eligibility :

Candidates must be Indian

Candidates must be complete Graduation in any stream from a recognized University

Candidates age limit between 21 to 30 years

The upper age relaxation as per govt rules
