GATE 2010 has some changes in exam pattern... only 65 questions of totally 100 marks... They include some aptitude and verbal questions for 20marks....

Gate is an all india test conducted jointly by iisc & all seven iits. it a graduate aptitude test conducted for post graduate programmes. student should have completed his B.Sc. in the relevant field.

i give you some preparation tips,
initially you should have very clear knowledge about the syllabus. then concentrate on theory units.....so that you have direct questions you can answer easily. after that go for units that you studied well during your academic year. then go for problematic units........study well the units you feel quite easy. at last cover the rest of the syllabus....dont put more effort....no tensed... avoid last minute preparation.... revise the syllabus for one month before the exam....... thanks......all the best |

you can get all information regarding gate exam from the following website :=
http://www.gate.iitb.ac.in/gate2010_website/about_gate_exam.php the general pattern of the question paper is := The GATE examination consists of a single paper of 3 hours duration, which contains 65 questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of only multiple choice objective questions. Each question will have four choices for the answer. The examination for the papers with codes TF and MN will be carried out ONLINE using computers where the candidates will be required to select the correct choice from among the four provided options. For all other papers, the candidates will have to mark the correct choice on an Optical Response Sheet (ORS) by darkening the appropriate bubble against each question. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer. best of luck |

gate exam are on head information you have recieved by other members are enough just prepare paper of previous year and stop studying syllabus this might puzzle your mind are lead you to confused state............

i am giving the syllabus for gate in cs and it,you will find them useful:
COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING Theory of Computation: Regular languages and finite automata, Context free languages and Push-down automata, Recursively enumerable sets and Turing machines, Undecidability; NPcompleteness. Digital Logic: Logic functions, Minimization, Design and synthesis of combinational and sequential circuits; Number representation and computer arithmetic (fixed and floating point). Computer Organization and Architecture: Machine instructions and addressing modes, ALU and data-path, CPU control design, Memory interface, I/O interface (Interrupt and DMA mode), Instruction pipelining, Cache and main memory, Secondary storage.
