To join Indian Air Force, you need to pursue your higher studies in 11th and 12th standard with Non-Medical Science stream from a Government recognised board after completion of your 10th standard.

After completion of your 12th standard, you have to appear in NDA examination which is conducted by UPSC twice a year. The age criteria required to appear in NDA examination is 16 1/2 to 19 1/2 years. You should be an unmarried Male candidate and should be physically as well as mentally healthy to be eligible to appear in NDA examination for joining in Indian Air Force.

To become Pilot in Air Force, you must do 10+2 to apply for National Defence Academy entrance examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The eligibility criteria for NDA entrance exam:

>>For Air Force, candidate must have done 10+2 with science stream and subjects should include Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. .

>>The age limit for NDA entrance exam is 16.5-19.5 years.

>>Unmarried male Indian candidates can only apply for this exam.

You can apply for this examination after 10+2. You must select science stream with PCM subjects. NDA exam is conducted twice every year. When notification is released, you can apply for exam at http://www.upsconline.nic.in.

To be a pilot in Indian Air Force you certainly have three options one is through NDA ( National Defense Academy, another one is through CDS ( Combined Defense Services ) and last one is through AFCAT ( Air force Common Admission Test ).

Further to be eligible for joining NDA, you need to have completed your Class 12th with Mathematics, Physics and English as main subjects from a recognized board of education apart from satisfying other requirements where as for joining CDS and AFCAT you need to have completed your graduation in Mathematics or Physics or any Engineering stream from a recognized university apart from satisfying other requirements.

So as far as you are concerned about selection of stream for Class 12th academics to be an Indian Air force pilot then for that you need to pursue your Class 12th with PCM group from a recognized board of education.

For further details about NDA, CDS and AFCAT entries you can refer to the link www.careerairforce.nic.in.

Being a Class 10th passed candidate you need to complete your Class 12th with Physics, Mathematics and English as main subjects from a recognized board to be eligible for becoming a pilot in Indian Air force.

Further after completion of your Class 12th with above qualification you will be required to qualify NDA entrance examination which is held by UPSC twice every year.

Apart from NDA you have the same options through CDS and AFCAT examinations but for that you need to have completed your graduation degree in Mathematics, Physics or Engineering stream form a recognized university.

For more updates and details about eligibility criteria of these entries you can visit the link www.careerairforce.nic.in.
