NASA is an acronym for National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

It is an agency of the United States government responsible for the nation’s space programs and aerospace research.

It is not possible to get admission in NASA right after passing 10th. The minimum academic qualification required to get admission in NASA is graduation in engineering discipline. for that your son has to first complete his 12th in PCM group of subjects.

Eligibility criteria for admission in NASA :-

- The aspirant should have passed Intermediate/ Class 12th with the PCM Group along with a minimum percentage as stated. Bachelor of Technology with at least 70 % marks in aggregate.

Selection of candidate is made based on their performance in the

Written exam ,

Group Discussion,

Technical interview,

HR Interview.

To become a scientist in NASA, there is no such direct entrance exam.

However, you will have to go through several stages.

And, on the basis of your performance and skills, if you are lucky enough then you join NASA in future.

Firstly, after 10th you must choose Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as primary subject.

Then, you must apply for engineering entrance exam to get admission in Aeronautical engineering or Aerospace engineering.

If you are getting admission in Space Science, then it would be more better.

Some of the popular colleges include:
  • Institute of Aeronautical and Marine Engineering, Bangalore
  • Park College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, (Tamil Nadu)
  • School of Aviation Science and Technology, Delhi Flying Club, Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi
  • VSM Aerospace, Chelekere Village (Near Kammanahalli), Bangalore
  • Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
  • Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai
  • Bangalore Institute of Aeronautical Engineering and Information Technology, Bangalore
  • Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Dehradun
  • Guru Gram Institute of Aeronautical Engineering & Technology
  • Indian Institute of Technology Chennai
  • Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur
  • Indian Institute of Aeronautics, Patna
  • Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology, Chennai
  • Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati
  • Bihar Institute of Technology, Sindri, Ranchi.
  • Mohammad Sathak Engineering College, Kilakarai.
  • Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee
  • Siddhartha Institute of Aeronautical Engineering and Information Technology
  • Nehru College of Aeronautics and Applied Sciences, Coimbatore
  • Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
  • Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh
  • Rajasthan Vidhyapeeth (Deemed)University, (Rajasthan)
  • Hindustan Electronics Academy,Bangalore
  • Institute of Aviation Technology, Haryana
  • Anna University, Chennai

You will have to appear for exams like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, BITSAT, COMEDK, etc. to get entry to these institutes.

After completion of your course, you can be recruited to organizations like DRDO, ISRO, etc.

And, then after working for 5-6 years you can apply for NASA.

On the basis of your working experience and knowledge, they will hire you.

NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
It is world's best organization for civilian space program and aeronautics and space research.
It is not a institute from which a student completes his degrees.
To become engineer or scientist in NASA, students need to qualify examination conducted by NASA for recruitment at various post.
Students from all over world can apply for most of the posts if they fulfill required eligibility criteria .
For school students, NASA also provides scholarship programs in which students need to develop a idea for betterment of world and they need to submit their work to NASA and on basis of evaluation NASA provides scholarship to student selected by the committee.
Your son is currently in 10th standard, so, he need to complete 12th first then try for admission in top university of the world such as MIT(Massachusetts Institutes of Technology), Harvard University, Cambridge University etc and in the mean time he should work on an idea for betterment of human life in any field to participate in contest to win scholarship which will help for admission in top university.
Also, he need to appear in KVPY and Olympiad as these are also helpful for admission in top universities.
