Educational qualification required for IAS exam-

bachelors degree from any recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Maths ,Physics, statistics or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering .

Age limit = 21 to 30 years for general (5 years relaxation for sc/st and 3 years relaxation for obc)

Number of permissible attempts =4 times for general and 7 times for sc/st/obc.

Fee = 100/- foe general (no fee for sc/st )

This exam is conducted by UPSC in onece time in year.

Those candiadte are graduate from any recognized university with any dicipline are eligible for IAS exam.

But your age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candiadte is Unlimited. For OBC candiadte it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

Also you must be in citizen in India.

Optional subjects for IAS main exam:

Economics , Electrical Engineering,Geography, Geology ,History, Law,Management,Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Statistics, Zoology, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Anthropology,Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce and Accountancy.

You can choose the subject in sense of your strength .

The IAS selection process is consist in three way

1)Preliminay exam
2)Main exam
3)Inter View.

Minimum qualifications required for IAS

According to the UPSC guidelines..a candidate must fulfill these minimum criterion for appearing in the Civil Service Exams

1)The candidate must be a graduate from a recognized college of India..

2)The candidate must be within the age limit of 21-30 years for general category, less than 33 years for OBC category and less than 35 years for SC/ST category..

you have a maximum of 4 attempts to clear this exam..

there are 2 rounds :-

1)Prelims :- this round consists of two tests..both will test your aptitude,general knowledge and current affairs..

2)Mains :- this round shall test your knowledge of your graduation subjects..

if you clear both the rounds then you will be called for interview and final selection..

dear friend ,

to become the ias officer minimum requirement is that candidate have to be graduate student from the recognized indian university.

graduation in any discipline like in engineering , medical , bsc , etc

minimum age requirement to appear in the ias exam is 21 years and upper age limit is 30 years.
there is relaxation of the 3 and 5 years for the obc and sc/st category candidates from upper age limit respectively.

general and obc category candidtae can apply for this exam for 4 and 7 times respectively.

while there is no restriction on the number of attempts of the sc/st category candidates.

IAS is stand for Indian administrative services.The examination for the IAS is conducted by UPSC.

A candidate is eligible for the examination if he is graduate from a recognized university in any stream.The age of the candidate must be between 21-30 years.Age relaxation for the SC/ST/OBC candidate are given as par govt. rule.

This year the IAS examination is already over.The notification about the next examination will be published in the month of February next year in the weekly journal Employment News and all leading dailies.The notice is also available in the official website of the UPSC.

Educational Qualification
To be eligible for becoming an IAS officer, the candidate must possess a degree from an Indian

yes ,you are eligible to attended IAS but you to graduate from any recognized university
your age should be 21-28 year
you should have to pass exam criteria like-:
1. Preliminay exam
2. Main exam
3. Interview
you should given 4 chance to genral,7 chance to obc,no any chance limit to the sc/st candidates.

The exam have 3 stages:-

Qualifications required to become an IAS officer:

i) Age limits :

21-30 years as on 1.7.2012. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs)

(ii) Educational Qualifications :


Bachelorís degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification
