what rank is required for mech in iit-b specificly answer pls...please tell me the answer

Till date, we have the opening and closing rank of admission which was scheduled in
the year 2010 for admission to 2010-11 session.
The opening and closing rank of the admission which was scheduled last year i.e. in 2011,
shall be available only after the result of JEE-2012 counseling brochure is published
which will be published after the result of JEE-2012 is out.

The opening and closing rank of IIT Bombay in 2010 admission were as given below.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

OBC: 83-302
SC: 48-124
ST: 4-79

Five year M.Tech. Dual Degree Course:

Mechanical Engineering with M.Tech. in Computer Aided Design and Automation

NOTE:

GEN: 56-471 means that
the minimum All Indian Rank in GENERAL category that got admission in IIT Bombay
in B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering course was AIR-56 and
the maximum All Indian Rank in GENERAL category that got admission in IIT Bombay
in B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering course was AIR-471.
OBC: 83-302 means that
the minimum All Indian Rank in OBC category that got admission in IIT Bombay
in B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering course was AIR-83(OBC category) and
the maximum All Indian Rank in GENERAL category that got admission in IIT Bombay
in B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering course was AIR-302(OBC category).

Depending upon the category you belong, you can roughly get an idea about the
rank to get admission in the stated course.
