University of Mumbai has conferred K J Somaiya College of Engineering as Autonomous in the last year upon UGC and state government recommendations.

Regarding Admission:
Admission to all UG courses is based on 12th or HSC or equivalent examination with specified list of subjects like for Engineering PCM as mandatory subjects with minimum percentages of marks specified by DTE and JEE mains examination.

Admission in the first year of Engineering starts right after declaration of 12th and JEE mains results whichever is declared later. Last date for the admission is declared by DTE.
