when and where will the civil service exam application be given?

Civil Services Exam is going to be conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year. This will be the entrance exam for the candidates to be placed in various civil services like
-Indian Administrative Service
-Indian Police Service
-Indian Revenue Service etc.

For this academic year, UPSC has conducted civil services examination. If you are interested you can apply for upcoming civil services exam which is going to be conducted in the next academic year.

Here are the important dates regarding this exam.

-Date of commencement of notification : 04-02-2012
-Last date for the receipt of completed application forms : 05-03-2012
-Date of CSAT Exam : 20-05-2012

One can apply for this exam in both online and offline modes.

With regard to online mode, you can apply for this exam from the official website of UPSC and after the announcement of notification.

One can also in offline mode for this exam by getting the application forms for this exam from the designated post office branches all over India just by paying Rs.30/-.

Application form along with the information brochure and acknowledgement will be provided.

In order to be eligible for this exam, one should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.

In addition, one should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this exam. Relaxation is there in upper age limit for the candidats of OBC category and ST/SC category.

DETAILS ABOUT CIVIL SERVICE EXAM

Civil service exam exam conducted by UPSC.There is no marks criteria.Only graduate are applicable for you.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

Candidate should have minimum graduation degree with any discipline from a recognized university.

AGE CRITERIA:

For General category candidate,age should be between 21 to 27 years
For OBC category candidates age should be between 21 to 30 years
For SC/ST category candidates age should be between 21 to 35 years.

NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS:
4 attempts for General category candidates
7 attempts for OBC category candidates
Unlimited attempts for sc/st category candidates

Civil Services Preliminary Exam, 2012

Date of notification: 04-02-2012

Last Date for Receipt of Applications: 05-03-2012

Date of Exam: 20-05-2012

Civil Services Main Exam, 2012

Date of Commencement of Exam: 05-10-2012

Applications for civil services can be submitted online through the website of UPSC. Prelims exam is usually conducted in the month of May. Notification will be issued by Februvary. Those who pass prelims exam can appear for mains exam by October. Further details can be collected from exam notification issued by UPSC.
