I am a 4 year ece student. I want to know whether clearing gate exam will help me in getting job in core companies?How to apply for core companies?

iam 3rd year.... Is B.E.is enough 4 getting job in core company?if it so how to write gate exam???

It depends on your college whether you can directly get core company just after BE. Because most of the PSUs only visit IITs and NITs only for campus placements. But if you placement office request these companies to visit for campus, then only you can get, that too depends on you Btech CGPA to a large extent.

But recently, PSUs and other core companies decided to recruit on the basis of GATE score. In their recruitment, 85% weightage will be given to GATE score, rest 15% will be for Interview or group discussion.

They also have criteria of CGPA, you should have at least 6.0/10 to be eligible. For SC/ST, it is 5.5. But these companies recruit best students, so selected students are generally top scorers having cgpa above 7.

Notifications for recruitment are announced in Employment news starting from December till February. Since you are in 4th yr, you should apply in your final semester, you can show your degree at the time of Interview.
