Re: Will I be eligible for NET exam after doing PG by distance learning?
Yes you will be eligible if decided to complete post graduation from distance education or the correspondence. There is no restriction on the students who have completed post graduation via distance education.
As long as you will be able to meet the eligibility criteria for the National Eligibility Test, there will be no issue. If you are deciding to complete post graduation from distance education just keep one thing in mind. Please ensure that you choose a recognized college. Your college should be recognized by the University Grants Commission to appear for the National Eligibility Test. Every year students are given 2 chances to appear for the National Eligibility Test. You can appear in June or December. Whichever is more suitable to you. Eligibility Criteria 1. Without a post graduation degree you can not appear. 2. Degree should be secured with 55 percent marks. 3. The need for SC and ST is to secure 50 percent. 4. Even final year students can appear. 5. The final year students should submit the degree in 2 years time. 6. Your subject for NET would depend on the post graduation degree. 7. There is no limit on the number of attempts. 8. Age limit for JRF is 28 years. 9. 31 years is the JRF age limit for OBC. 10. For SC/ST 33 years is the limit. 11. No upper age limit if you are appearing for lectureship. |

Re: Will I be eligible for NET exam after doing PG by distance learning?
Dear Friend,
The Full Form Of NET is National Eligibility Test. This Test is conducted twice every year by the University Grants Commission [UGC] for the below mentioned posts : * Lecturer Ship * Junior Research Fellowship The Examination is conducted in the months of June and December in which only those candidates can appear who have completed their post graduation in any stream from any recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks. Relaxation of 5% marks is given if the candidate belongs to OBC/SC/ST Category. So , as per your query , i would like to tell you that its not important that through which mode you have completed your post graduation. The thing that is most important is that the University from where you have done Post Graduation is recognized by the UGC or not. Moreover , there is no age limit for the NET Exam if you are willing to apply for the post of Lecturer Ship. But if you are applying for the post of JRF , then its mandatory that your age must lie in between 21-28 years if you belong to General Category. * Upper age relaxation of 5 years is given to SC/ST candidates whereas its 3 years relaxation for OBC Candidates. The University Grants Commission conducts the NET Exam as per the pattern mentioned below : This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |
