Re: Will I be eligible to sit for IES Exam after completing MCA?
Dear Friend
MCA qualified students don't fit well in eligibility conditions of Engineering Service Examination. You should have a B.Tech./M.Sc(with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physicsor Radio Engineering as a special subject) degree for being eligible for IES exam. You should try other services of your field like BSNL JTO exam. |

Re: Will I be eligible to sit for IES Exam after completing MCA?
The eligibility criteria does not allow you to sit for IES.
Only graduates in any field of engineering and final year engineering students are eligible to apply for IES. And they have to choose any one of the following stream as their branch in the IES exam. Electrical Engineering Electronics & Communications Engineering Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Whatever branch they will choose, questions will come according to the syllabus of that branch. So friend, you are not eligible. |

Re: Will I be eligible to sit for IES Exam after completing MCA?
You are not eligible to apply for the Indian Engineering Service. To apply for it you must have Bachelor of Technology degree which you ain't have. Master of Computer Application is not considered equivalent to the B.Tech.
So the short answer is no, you are not eligible for Indian Engineering Service. I will suggest you to find job related to your course. If you have scored above 60 percent in MCA as well in 10th and 12th then there are several MNCs that will hire you. Some examples are:- Infosys Microsoft Yahoo HCL HP IBM Tech Mahindra Wipro Satyam As far as Indian Engineering Service is concerned, you should forget about it. IES is conducted to fill vacancies in various government departments. The exam is conducted in only 4 branches of Engineering:- Civil Mechanical Electrical Electronics and Communications IES Eligibility 1. The candidate should be Indian national 2. A citizen of Nepal as well subject of Bhutan are also eligible. 3. A Bachelor degree in Engineering from recognized college. 4. Students who have completed M.Sc in Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering are also eligible. 5. The age limit is 21 to 30 years. 6. A maximum relaxation of 3 years for OBC. 7. Up to 5 years for SC/ST. |

But i must say that it does not makes much of a difference since the course that you have opted for anyway will be able to open up lots of new avenues for you and the career opportunities after doing MCA is very bright. After completing MCA you can look for jobs in the field of software developer, web designer, systems management, etc. Generally the experts says that after BCA one should gain work experience first and then go for MCA as scope for a good position broadens if a person has relevant work experience. There is no dearth of opportunities for the MCA graduates in the IT sectors. Depending on your skill and working capacity you can always work your way up the ladder in this sector as well. Basically you can start your career as an Entry Level Trainee Programmer and then move on as a Programmer, Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Systems Analyst, Senior Systems Analyst and then become a Consultant and as mentioned above the IT sector is also a big temptation for one and all. Apart from that you can also sit for various government exams like UPSC, SSC, PSC, public sector bank exams and so on. Many central government companies like NHPC, GAIL, IOC, NTPC recruits MCA graduates for the posts like Junior Executives, Administrative Officer posts, Assistant Technician, Executive jobs etc. If teaching option suits you then you can also give the UGC NET exam and try your luck for the post of lectureship or JRF. In that case though it is important to score 55% of marks or above at post graduation level. For the lectuership post you have to sit for the NET Exam which is a prerequisite. Hope this helps :-> :-> |
