I am from Erode. Which degree would help me to prepare for civil service exam. Whether history group will be correct?

Civil Services examination is conducted by UPSC every year. Those who fulfill following eligibility criteria can apply for Civil Services exam:

1. Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university. Candidates pursuing final year of graduation can also apply for this exam.

2. Age limit is 21-32 years. Upper age relaxation of three years to OBC and five years to SC/ST candidate.

You can select any stream in bachelor's degree either history or geography as per your interest.

Civil Services examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission for selection of candidates into different services like IAS, IPS, IRS etc. Candidates who have done bachelor's degree from a recognized university can apply for this examination. The age limit is 21-32 years with three years upper age relaxation to OBC and five years to SC/ST candidates.

Yes, history will be good if you have interest in this subject. You can select this subjects as your optional subject in mains exam there is no problem in that. Candidates are free to select any subject as per their interest for Civil Services examination.

To become an IAS/ IPS/ IRS officer, you can choose B.A in History subject because this subject is scoring subject. mentioned exams are conducted by UPSC through Civil Service exam.

Those candidates who have completed graduation degree from a recognized University are eligible for Civil Service exam.

Your age should be in between 20 to 32 years.
