sir can you please tell me that does a SUB-INSPECTOR becomes an I.P.S officer after long service and promotions because as i think that after promotion a sub-inspector will become a INSPECTOR but after that do he become a I.P.S officer
so please tell me

No after being a Sub-inspector you can only become a Inspector but for becoming as IPS officer you would need to write the Civil Service exam for IPS which is the IPS exam.

The exam is being conducted by UPSc and is held every year and there are certain qualification which you need to possess in order to apply for the exam and they are:

>> The candidate should have a Citizenship in India as per the Nationality standard

>> The age limit needed is 21-30 years of age and this is for General category candidates,

>> There are certain upper age relaxation for other category candidates and it is 5 years extra for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidate

>> Education qualification needed is that the candidate should have completed a Degree from a recognized university.

>> The candidate need to be physically fit while appearing for the exam

I don't think a Sub Inspector will be promoted to IPS officer post because they are recruited for a specific pay scale.

If you want to become an IPS officer, then you have to apply for Civil Services examination, which is conducted by UPSC every year.

The educational qualification required for Civil Services exam is Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.

The selection is based on the performance in the following stages.

1. CSAT
2. Mains
3. Interview
4. Medical Fitness Test

A sub inspector will be promoted to Superdente of Police(RURAL) / Commissioner (URBAN). He / she can be given IPS at that point for good service. Please search for "conferred IPS" and you get the details of that

Can a newly joined sub inspector be a circle inspector after writing a department test? If no what will be the criteria for becoming a circle inspector?

A sub inspector will be promoted will Superintendent of Police.He/She should complete 5 years in DSP rank and then 3 yrs in SP rank and GOVT. OF ODISHA can promote them to SP into IPS Cader

SI ----Inspector-DSP(5Yrs)+SP(3Yrs)----SP(IPS)

I am telling you the fact... You can't become IPS OFFICER.But you can become INSPECTOR.
If you are interested in IPS,then you have to crack UPSC EXAM.

IPS exam is part of the Civil Services Exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), it’s not separate. Depending on your hard work, capabilities, determination, the rank you score, then you will be allotted the IPS.
