-> To join Indian Police Service as a Class 1 police officer in India, you need to clear the IPS exam which is held by Union public service commission every year.

-> You must possess a graduate degree in any discipline of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India with minimum of 65%.

-> You should be a citizen of India/ Nepal/ Bhutan.

-> Age should be between the age of 21 – 30 years but the age is relaxed by 5 years for certain category (SC/ST) candidates.

To join Indian Police Force, you are required to write Union Public Service Commission Examinations. In order to join Indian Police Force, you are required to write Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) Exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission. To join Indian Police Service, you must first meet the required eligibility criteria. The basic educational qualification required to be eligible for joining Indian Police Service is "Graduate Degree" or Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized university. The minimum age required is 21 years and the maximum age must not exceed 30 years. If you have completed Graduation, then you can appear in CSAT Examination which is conducted by UPSC every year. You are required to appear in CSAT Exam to join Indian Police Service.
