Hi, my height is 167 cm and chest 82 cm. I want to be a part of indian police service. So please tell me about the height required for joining Indian Police Service?

Height is required for joining Indian Police Service

Height Required

-> For males 165 cms for general,OBC,SC categories.

-> 160 Cms for ST Candidates

-> For Females : 150 Cms for Gen,OBC,SC

-> 145 Cms for ST

Chest Required

-> For Males : Minimum 84 Cms after expansion it should be 89 cms

-> For Females : Minimum 79 cms after expansion it should be 84 cms.

Indian Police Service is conducted by upsc is a civil service exam held in three parts
pre, main and interview. for Indian Police Service post you requires to attempt a exam.there is a normal physical medial criteria.

Physical fitness criteria for IPS exam:-

Height

For Men : 165 cm(AROUND)
For Women :150 cm(AROUND)

OBC /SC/ST :

Male:160 cm and female :145 cm

Chest

Male candidates-84 (+ 5cm).

Female candidates-79cm(+ 5cm).

Eye Sight

For Worse Eye :6/12 or 6/9 distant vision
For good Eye :6/6 or 6/9 distant vision

**For participate in the IPS exam you have to passed any undergraduate degree from any well recognized Indian University

**Physical requirement===>

::Height – Male 165 cm & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm

::Female 150 cm & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

::Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.

::Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

::Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye.
6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye..
