sir,i passed btech with 80% from computer science department..I want t go with govt.jobs..is gate exam important for govt jobs in any sectors????

No not like that GATE is Not necessary to all the government jobs. Actually you need GATE Score only for jobs in PSU's. So you can apply for various government jobs with your qualification and percentage.

No, GATE score is not necessary for government sector jobs. But if you can apply for PSU companies then GATE score card is essential. So you can apply so many exam without having GATE score because you have passed B.Tech degree.

Civil Service exam:-

If you have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university then you are eligible for Civil Service exam.

Age Criteria:

For General: 21 to 30 years
For OBC: 21 to 33 years
For SC/ST: 21 to 35 years

No. of Attempts:

For General: 3
For OBC: 7
For SC/ST: No Restriction

Selection process for Civil Service exam:

1)Preliminary test
2)Mains exam
3)Personal interview

Combined Defence Service exam:-

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service exam.

Eligibility criteria:-

Indian naval academy: You should have completed engineering graduation or B.Sc with physics, mathematics subjects from a recognized university.

Indian Air force academy: You should have completed engineering graduation or B.Sc with physics, mathematics from a recognized university.

Indian Military academy: You should have completed graduation in any stream from a recognized university.

Officers Training Academy: You should have completed graduation in any stream from a recognized university.

Age Criteria:-

Indian Military Academy: - 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy: - 19-23 Years
Naval Academy: - 19-22 Years
Officer's Training Academy: - 19-25 Years

Indian Forest Service exam:-

IFS stands for Indian Forest Service exam. This exam is conducted by UPSC.

Those candidates who have completed graduation degree from a recognized university in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering are eligible for IFS exam.

Final year student are also eligible for IFS exam,

Your age should be in between 21 to 30 years. Age relaxation is provided for SC/ST/OBC candidate category.

Where you would apply in technical departments your gate score would be an added advantage for you and for petroleum companies it is the only qualification they consider to be eligible.

If I have cleared my gate exam in 2017 can I get its benefits of scholarship after some years
