is requires for applying in Indian
Forest Service exam?

Eligibility Criteria required for Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination:

Minimum Height Required:

For Men - 165 cms for General Candidates

For Men - 170 cms for SC/ ST/ OBC Candidates {since there is a height relaxation of 5 cms}

For Women - 150 cms for General Candidates

For Women - 155 cms for SC/ ST/ OBC Candidates {since there is a height relaxation of 5 cms}

Minimum Weight Required:

For Men and Women - Weight should be in proportion with Height of Candidates (There is no particular weight limit)

Minimum Chest Required:

For Men - 84 cms for General Candidates

For Men - 89 cms for SC/ ST/ OBC Candidates

For Women - 79 cms for General Candidates

For Women - 84 cms for SC/ ST/ OBC Candidates

Indian Forest Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year. 2015 Indian Forest Service Examination notification is not yet released. You can expect the notification in the month of May/June in the official website of UPSC. To apply for this examination the applicant should have completed degree course with at least one of subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.

Applicant must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years at the time of appearing for this examination. Upper age limits is applicable for reserved categories. 3 years relaxation is applicable for OBC candidates and 5 years relaxation is applicable for SC/ST candidates.

Male :

-> Min. height- 165cm and 160cm for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
-> Chest- 84cm (min).

Female :

-> Min. Height - 150cm and 145cm relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
-> Chest- 79cm (min).

IFS stands for Indian Forest Service exam. This exam is conducted by UPSC.

Those candidates who have completed graduation degree from a recognized university in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering are eligible for IFS exam.

Final year student are also eligible for IFS exam.

Your age should be in between 21 to 30 years. Age relaxation is provided for SC/ST/OBC candidate category.

Pattern for IFS exam:-

Paper I:- General English (300 marks)
Paper II:- General Knowledge (300 marks)
Paper III-VI:- Any two selected optional subject (200 marks for each paper)
Personality Test:- 300 marks

Physical Criteria for IFS Exam:-

For men:-

1. Min. height- 165cm and 5cm relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
