Complete Information about Indian Economic Service Exam:

>> Indian Economic Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

>> The basic educational qualification, age criteria and other details are provided below.

>> Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree from a recognized university in Economics/ Applied Economics or Business Economics or Econometrics.

>> Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying degree exams are also eligible provisionally subject to producing proof of passing along with the detailed application form.

>> Minimum Age required is 21 years and the maximum age must not exceed 30 years as on 1st January of the year of examination.

UPSC conducts combined exam for IES/ISS for filling the vacancies of post of Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service.

Following are the eligibility for IES (Indian Economic Service) exam.

Educational Qualification: student must have obtained a Post-graduate degree in Economics/ Applied Economics/ Business Economics /Econometrics.

Age Limit:21 to 30 years. Relaxation will be given to reserved category students.

Selection Procedure: The selection Procedure consist of 4 stages
--1. Written exam
--2. Interview
--3. Medical fitness test

**The written exam is of 1000 marks consist of 6 papers.
-Paper 1- General Studies- 100 marks
-Paper 2- English- 100 marks
-Paper 3- General Economics I- 200 marks
-Paper 4- General Economics II- 200 marks
-Paper 5- General Economics III- 200 marks
-Paper 6- Indian Economy- 200 marks

Those candidates who have completed Post graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics course from a recognized University are eligible for Indian Economics Service 2015 exam.

Your age should be in between 21 to 30 years. Age relaxation is provided for reserved category candidates.

(b)General Studies :- 100 Marks
(c)General Economics-I :- 200 Marks
(d)General Economics-II :- 200 Marks
