Is it possible to become an IAS/IFS Officer for Permanent Commission Air Force Officer?
Sir,
Can Air Force Officer holding a Permanent Commission apply for UPSC Civil Service exam not only IPS while remaining in Service and there after once selected can join as IAS/IFS by quitting the Air Force? |

Yes, why not, you can definitely apply for the Civil Services examinations while serving in Indian Airforce and if you clear all the three stages of Civil Services examination, you can definitely quit the job from Indian Airforce and join any of the Civil services as per your rank in exam.
You must meet the eligibility criteria. To appear in Civil Services exam, a candidate must have done bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. The age limit for candidates of general category is 21-32 years and there is upper age limit relaxation for OBC candidates and SC/ST candidates. There are three stages of this exam: 1. Preliminary exam. 2. Mains examination. 3. Personal interview. |
