It is good to hear that, you got a good goal towards civil services. In order to become Deputy Commissioner, you need to appear for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) first and get selected as IPS Officer. Then by promotions you reach the position of Deputy Commissioner of Police.
Selection Process through UPSC: • Preliminary Examination • Main Examination • Interview • Personality Test • Physical and Medical Tests Age Limit: Candidate must be in between 21 years and 30 years at the time of applying. 5 years of exemption for SC/ST candidates. After selection as an IPS Officer, you will go through few roles before becoming Deputy Commissioner. Roles are as follows, • Assistant Commissioner of Police • Deputy Commissioner of Police • Senior Superintendent of Police • Additional Commissioner of Police and more. Education Qualification: • Candidate should have completed Bachelor Degree or Master Degree or might be pursuing his/her final year. • Should have 50% marks in academics. Syllabus for UPSC: • English • General Science • General Studies • Science. • Mathematics • General Knowledge • Indian Heritage and Culture • Technology • International relations and more. Procedure :--
Aspirants have to prepare for IAS and clear IAS exam with good rank. Aspirants can become Deputy Commissioner through a good IAS ranking. Aspirants have to write civil services examination conducted by your state government. Aspirants have to get good rank in that also. Get into Assistance Executive or Executive or Class-1 posts. Aspirants have to do well and you will be promoted to Deputy Commissioner after few years of good service. |
