I am an ex- serviceman. I have an interest in becoming a sub inspector of kerala police. So tell me what qualification is needed or required for me to become an AI?

The candidate who wishes to become Sub Inspector in Kerala Police has to appear for the Kerala Public Service Commission Exam .

The eligibility criteria required to apply for SI examination in Kerala are as under:-

- The candidate must possess Graduation degree with at least 60%(50% for SC/ST) marks from a recognized university .

-The age limit should be in between 21 years to 30 years for general category.There is relaxation in upper age limit by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

-The physical requirements with respect to Height is 162 cm and chest is 82 cm without expansion .

-The selection procedure involves of

Physical test.

Eligibility criteria for SI post:-

Educational Qualification:

Graduation degree from a recognized university.

Age:

Minimum age = 20 years
Minimum age = 28 years

Nationality:

Indian.

Age relaxation:-

SC/ST- 5 years

OBC- 3 years

Ex-Servicemen ( Unreserved)- 5 years

Ex-Servicemen (OBC)- 8 years

Ex-Servicemen (SC/ST)- 10 years

Physical criteria for SI post:-

Minimum Physical Standard:

i) For Male Candidates:
Height-1.67 mtrs.
Weight-51.5 Kgs
Chest-79 cms with a minimum expansion of 5 cms

ii) For Female Candidates:-
Height-1.60 mtrs.
Weight- 45 Kgs

iii) Vision :

Eye-sight ( with or without glasses )
Distant vision : 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye.
Near vision 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye.

Qualification required for Ex-Serviceman for the post of SI In Kerala Police :

• Candidate must have passed graduation from any recognised university.
• There is no minimum percentage criteria.
• Age of candidate must be from 21 to 40 years excluding their service period.
• Candidate must be physically and mentally fit.
