Respected Sir, I am an MBBS student and I want to appear for IPS exam so I want to know whether a MBBS student can give IPS exam without any problems? How can a MBBS student clear paper 1 if it consists of Social Science? Please answer as soon as possible.

I.P.S stands for Indian Police Service and for recruitment as an I.P.S officer the candidates have to appear and qualify in Civil Service examination.

The minimum educational qualification required to appear for Civil Service examination is bachelor degree in any discipline.

So, you are eligible to appear for examination after MBBS. But, you have to qualify in General Studies and CSAT paper to become eligible for Mains stage.

The paper contains questions of Social Studies, Current Affairs so you have to prepare for it to qualify in examination. For syllabus and other information related to examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in.

MBBS is a graduation degree in medical science and is definitely valid qualification for IPS officer exam, which is also known as UPSC civil services exam.

Selection will be on the basis of performance in the written exam and interview conducted by UPSC. Just make sure you are well prepared for it. It is up to you to prepare according to the syllabus of the exam.

Yes, MBBS student are eligible for IPS exam.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service.

If you have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized University then you are eligible for IPS exam.

Your age should be in between 21 years to 32 years for general candidates.

Age relaxation is given below -

5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates
3 years relaxation for OBC Candidates
10 years relaxation for PHC candidates
5 years relaxation for Ex-serviceman
