Hello sir, I have completed 12th with Art stream along with Mathematics. I want to become a Fashion Designer. How can I become a Fashion Designer? Can I apply for NIFT entrance exam?

Yes, you are eligible for NIFT entrance exam after completion of your intermediate. Candidates who have completed their intermediate in any stream from a recognized board are eligible for this exam. Yes, you can join Fashion Designing courses. This course is based on your own ability and design creation, so this course doesn't check the stream of the students, but some institutions give admission to only those students who are from science stream. Commerce student can also pursue this course it will not create any hurdle for them. Fashion designing course takes a minimum 4 years to complete.

Eligibility criteria for Bachelor of Design course in National Institute of Fashion Technology :-

-The candidate should have passed 12th class of 10+2 pattern from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination.

-The maximum age to apply for NIFT exam is 23 years.There is age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

NIFT conducts entrance exam for different courses offered by the institute. The written test is conducted to test the knowledge, skill and aptitude of the candidates for the course opted. There is no negative marking for wrong attempts and each right answer will get 1 mark.
