You can not apply direct to Ph.D admission in Sociology so better you can apply for UGC NET exam for Ph.D admission.

If you have completed masters degree with above 55% marks from a recognized university then you are eligible for Ph.D course.

There is no age criteria.

Sorry it is possible for you to get direct admission for PhD in Sociology. You are required to appear and qualify in the UGC NET entrance exam or the entrance exam organized by the concerned university in New Delhi University. On completion of Masters course candidates can apply for the Ph.D programme. A minimum of 55% in the qualifying course is a must. It is a must to have good academic record. Candidates who have secured 60% marks in the M.Phil programme offered by the University are eligible for direct admission to the Ph.D programme. Those who have secured between 50-60% in the M.Phil programme can apply for admission to the Ph.D programme.

It will be difficult to get admission directly if you want admission in a reputed university like JNU or DU in Delhi. You need other qualifications like NET/SET/JRF score plus you have to appear for interview also.

If you want admission in a not so reputed university in Delhi then you can surely get without any problem.

Yes, this is possible to get direct admission in Delhi, but in which college you want to get yourself admitted matters most. So, if you are thinking of Delhi university then you are not going to make it in this way, yes you can try for other colleges. So, i can suggest you to look for the Government colleges in the Delhi, they will surely take your admission based on your Qualification as well as the marks you obtained in your previous academic.
