Myself Srijan, date of birth is 01-05-2000. I wanted to know that whether I will be eligible for writing neet 2017? When I rang up to NEET helpline they are saying that I am not eligible because I will not complete age 17 at the end of Dec 31,2016. So, please clear my confusion.

NEET stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. NEET examination is conducted by CBSE for admission of candidates in MBBS and BDS courses in medical colleges of India. The age criteria for NEET examination is that candidate must have attained minimum age of 17 years on 31st December of year of examination.

For example, in case of NEET 2017, to apply one must attain 17 years on 31st December, 2017 or before it. Your date of birth is 1st May, 2000, you will attain 17 years on 1st May, 2017, you are eligible for NEET 2017 exam. You should apply without any doubt. The age limit to appear for NEET examination is 17-25 years as on year of appearing for entrance examination.

-The candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Make sure that your age is 17 years at the time of applying, if you are under aged then you won't be able to sit for the examination. As you are under aged, so you can wait and apply next year.

This was rule upto last year, there has been no chance, you can also wait for notification for latest updates. Helpline person may have done wrong calculation in your age.

*You must have studied PCB in 12th board and score at least 50% marks in board exam.

I am sorry to say that you are not eligible at this instant in order to appear in the NEET examination as you did not satisfy the required age criteria for the examination.
Candidates age must be above 17 years at the time of appearing in the examination.

The minimum age required to opt for the above mentioned examination is set at 17 years, therefore, if you have attained the minimum age required above, you can very much apply for NEET examination.

Those candidates who have completed 12th standard from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subject with above 50% are eligible for NEET exam.

Your age should be in between 17 to 25 years.
