Is it possible to do PhD in Urdu from Guru Nanak Dev University?


I have scored 60 percent marks in MA from Kashmir University. Now I want to get PhD done from GURU NANAK DEV University Amritsar Panjab. I want to know whether it is possible or not. Can I persue my PhD degree in urdu from GNDU and what is the procedure ?

Guru Nanak Dev University offers Ph.D program in Urdu language and you can definitely apply for it. Just make sure that you have the below mentioned qualification.

1. Master's Degree in Urdu with at least 55% marks from a recognized University. For reserved category candidates there is relaxation of 5% marks.

2. UGC NET score will add advantage and candidates with UGC NET score will be preferred over other. Non availability of NET qualified candidates will give opportunity to other candidates for admission.

GNDU will conduct there own entrance test for admission into Ph.D admission, if the seats are not filled by NET qualified candidates.

Therefore, if you want to get admission in a top University like GNDU for your Ph.D, then crack UGC NET.
