As per marks criteria, you are not eligible for Ph.D course.

The educational qualification required for Ph.D course is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for Ph.D exam.

Your age should be below 28 years.

Yes, you are eligible for Ph.D after completing 54.88 in master degree.

Eligibility Criteria :

Candidate must have completed his/her masters degree from any recognised university.
So, you can apply for admission in Ph.D degree. There is no age limit.

For general category candidates 55% marks in the post graduation is the minimum criteria for admission in PH.D in any recognized university. If you belong to reserved category then you can avail 5% relaxation in marks.

Hence, you have chance of applying only when you belong to reserved category after getting relaxation of 5% marks as you don't have 55% marks.
