No, candidates who are doing their 3rd year B.Tech are not at all eligible to apply for CSIR NET Examination. Candidates who are doing final year of BS-4 year program/ B.Tech/ B.E/ B.Pharma/ MBBS/ M.Sc/ Integrated BS-MS or its equivalent qualification with minimum 55% marks. Candidates who have completed the above degree are eligible to appear in CSIR National Eligibility Test exam. Candidates enrolled for M.Sc or having Completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination. Candidates who are awaiting for their result of final year of qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in CSIR NET Examination. Since you are still pursuing third year B.Tech, I am sorry to say that you are not eligible to apply. Hence I suggest you to concentrate well on B.Tech studies and can apply for CSIR NET Examination when you will be in Final year of B.Tech or after completion of B.Tech.

No, you can't apply for CSIR-NET being a B.Tech 3rd year student.
Candidate who have completed graduation can apply for CSIR-NET.
Also, final year candidate can apply for CSIR-NET exam but pre final year students are not allowed.

You can apply for CSIR NET only when you are in final year of B.Tech or completed the degree. Also, you must have 60% marks in the degree. Those who are applying with final year have to sign an undertaking duly signed by college head before applying.

Engineering sciences will be the subject for you in this exam. Hence, for now you are not eligible but in final year you can surely apply..
