I have completed MA in English Literature from Annamalai University through distance mode. I do not have any other qualification except MA English. Please let me know am I eligible to do PhD? Which university is providing in distance mode?

Yes, distance mode MA is definitely valid for Ph.D admission. Just make sure degree is approved BT UGC DEC and you have at least 55% marks in your masters degree. There is relaxation of 5% marks for reserved category candidates.

Admission at most of the reputed universities is on merit through entrance exam and interview. Hence, be prepared for these stages.

Yes you can do PHD after doing M.A. through distance mode. But for that you have to qualify entrance exams or interviews of different universities. If you want to make carrier in lectureship then you should first qualify CBSE NET exam.

If your masters degree marks is above 55% from a recognized University then you are eligible for Ph.D course from Annamalai University through distance mode.
