No, you are not eligible for Ph.D in botany subject. Being a post graduate in microbiology field you can pursue research in topics related to microbiology only. Botany is a different field.

Normally, Ph.D is for those who want to enter research field or join academics field as a lecturer or professor. Most of the candidates who are already doing a job as a lecturer opt for research programme for growth in career.
