Yes, surely you can apply for PH.D admission in your field if you have got 55% marks in MSW post graduation. The best way is to qualify UGC NET or SET to become eligible for admission in top universities.

There will be written exam and interview stages which will be conducted by the university concerned. If you have good academic record with performance in these stages then you will surely get admission.

The eligibility to study the PhD in Social Work is an MPhil and a Postgraduate degree in Social work with minimum 55% marks or Master's Degree in Social Work with 55% marks and 5 years experience in teaching/research/administration/health care/social welfare/professional experience.
The duration of the course is 2 years.
So if the above conditions are met then the aspirant can do PhD in Social Work.
You have to study MPhil or should have 5 years experience to do PhD in Social Work.
