Sir/Mam,

I want to know that i am msc in zoology with specialization entomology, i want to do phd ,plz tell about the univ in india and the admission procedures.? I just require these details to ensure that I will follow the correct steps which are required to do the Ph.D course?

The admission will be based on entrance examination. So, you need to crack the entrance examination, which is conducted by their respective university. Minimum Educational Qualification to apply for entrance examination is that candidate should have passed master degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university or equivalent qualification. The candidate must have obtained minimum 55% marks in aggregate for general candidates and 50% marks in aggregate for reserved categories. Those who are studying in the final year of master degree may also apply.

The entrance examination notification will be available in the month of January/February in the official website of respective university. The notification and examination period differs from university to university.

Most of the Universities accept NET/SLET/GATE/JRF qualification with Master's degree for admission in Ph.D program. Also, make sure that you have got at least 55% marks in your Master's degree from a recognized University in respective discipline. For reserved category 50% marks is the minimum criteria.

Hence, if you have got Master's degree then apply for admission when the notification is released by the respective University. You have to apply on a prescribed application form and send it to the mentioned address. You will be called for interview directly if you have NET/SLET/GATE/JRF score. If not then you have to appear for entrance exam and interview.
