To do Ph.D in a particular subject, candidates must have appeared in the UGC NET examination, qualifying in which they will be eligible to take admission for Ph.D courses.
The eligibility criteria required to appear in the UGC NET examination is that a candidate must have completed Master's Degree course from a recognised University with 55% of marks. There is no age criteria for NET examination. |

Re: What is the procedure followed to apply for Ph.D from any University?
The students with Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with 55% marks can apply for PhD program in any university. Those applied should appear for PhD Entrance Test (PET) or CET conducted by the university for the PhD admission. The candidates should also attend an interview for the admission. The candidates who have cleared GATE/NET/SET/M.Phil or equivalent examinations shall not be required to appear at the PhD entrance test. The course is available in various universities in India.
