What is the procedure followed for doing full time Ph.D from IITs or NITs?


Dear Sir/Mam, I want to do full time Phd in IIT's or NIT's. Presently I am working in a private engineering college in Andhra Pradesh. I want to continue my education independently without support from my management. Please let me came to know the procedure and details for it.

For Ph.D admission at IITs or NITs you need to apply when there is an admission notification on a prescribed format. You need at least a masters degree with 55% marks or a B.Tech degree with 60% marks to apply for it.

Those who have excellent academic record with GATE/NET/SET/JRF or M.Phil qualification or research experience have greater chance of being called for interview.
