Usually Computer Science and Information Technology branch's students are given preference by the IT companies. However, other branches like Electronics and Communication and Electronics and Electrical are also made eligible by most of the IT companies and enjoy second preference. But once the candidate clears written test, it is only his/her knowledge in his/her domain and the IT field as per job role requirement matters. A person who has adequate knowledge of programming belonging to non-CS/IT branch will be readily accepted compared to the CS/IT guy who has less knowledge in his/her domain.

Candidates who have completed their B.Tech degree from CS and IT field are mostly preferred in IT companies, however, its not such that other streams students are not eligible for job in IT companies, but mostly students from the above mentioned fields are preferred by IT companies for hiring.

Those candidates who have completed B.Tech/B.E in IT, CSE and ECE are eligible for IT companies.

Required percentage of marks throughout the studies for IT companies are,

IT company= 60%

Candidates having more than two years gap throughout the studies are not eligible for IT companies recruitment process.
